Through the ELLERY Gallery initiative, ELLERY aims to nurture and expand its connection to the art world.
Established in October 2017, the gallery space lives above ELLERY's Sydney flagship boutique, located at 213 Glenmore Road, Paddington.
ELLERY has long been immersed with the art world taking inspiration seasonally from aplethora of artists and mediums. The gallery is a natural extension of the brand and furtheranchors their commitment to nurturing Art and Culture as well as creating a space to extendthis message to their clients.
Kym Ellery talks about the new project: ‘Growing up within an artistic household, with anartist mother meant that galleries became a second home. I wanted to create a space above the store to engage with the Creatives that inspire me, producing a space that I can share these amazing artworks with the community. In the same way each collection talks to an artistic subject matter, I wanted the store to mirror this sentiment.’
Launching October 14th in partnership with cult Sydney gallery, China Heights, ELLERY Gallery presented a body of work by contemporary landscape painter Annalisa Ferraris, followed by a roster of diversely talented artists, including lino print artist Allie Webb and modern Indigenous painter Otis Hope Carey.
For its inaugural solo expo, ELLERY Gallery showcased the latest exhibition by artist Holly Fewson, titled 'Cars' [pictured], a series exploring of the idea of perfection. By placing flawless items side-by-side, Holly invites the onlooker to consider the value we place on objects of desire and how that affects the female experience.
For its 2018 programme, ELLERY Gallery will continue to champion local artists with an exciting roster of talents to be divulged soon. Watch this space.
